Travel Details: Your adventure begins with a comfortable air-conditioned transfer from your Marsa Alam hotel to Hamata Marina (approx. 1-1.5 hours drive). From there, you'll board a spacious boat for a scenic cruise to Sataya Reef (approx. 1.5-2 hours each way). Departures are early in the morning to maximize time at the reef and ensure optimal conditions.

Sataya Reef, also known as the 'Dolphin House', is an extraordinary horseshoe-shaped reef located in the deep south of the Red Sea, off the coast of Marsa Alam. It's approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour boat ride from Hamata Marina, which itself is about 100-120 km south of Marsa Alam. This natural lagoon is famous for being a frequent gathering spot for large pods of wild spinner dolphins, making it one of the best places in the world for respectful encounters with these intelligent creatures.
The reef system itself is vibrant and healthy, offering spectacular snorkeling opportunities with an abundance of colorful fish, pristine corals, and other diverse marine life in its calm, sheltered waters.
Climate: The southern Red Sea region, including Sataya Reef, enjoys year-round warm and sunny weather. Water temperatures are ideal for swimming and snorkeling throughout the year, typically ranging from 22-30°C (72-86°F). The best seasons for comfortable trips are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November), though summer also offers excellent conditions.
